You’ll experience the magical profusion of annual festivals celebrating both traditional and modern aspects of Malaysian culture. One of the world’s most politically stable countries, Malaysia offers an organic lifestyle and offers a blissful blend of multiculturalism, modern lifestyle, and colours. It is a popular holiday destination today, attracting travellers from around the world.

Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is the heart of Malaysia and is a modern bustling city that is a haven of multiculturism. It’s one of the world’s food capitals and is the central transport hub of Malaysia. It is Malaysia’s capital city, boasting gleaming skyscrapers, colonial architecture, charming locals, and a myriad of natural attractions. It houses some of the best universities that are home to great academics and activities.

Selangor

Selangor, known as the ‘Abode of Sincerity’, is one of the 13 states of Malaysia. Selangor is the wealthiest, most urbanized and, with 4.1 million people, the most populous of Malaysia’s states. Besides housing some of fascinating destinations, Selangor also has an array of top-notch universities.  With river cruises, jungle trails, and a hot spot for food, Selangor is indeed a great place to live in.

Negeri Sembilan

Situated on the western coast of Peninsular Malaysia, it is inhabited by a multiracial society. Negeri Sembilan – literally ‘nine states,’ a reference to its founding villages is bestowed with unmistakable architecture – traditional wooden houses with horned roofs and offers an abundance of rural charm to discover.

Melaka

Melaka is one of the most historical states of Malaysia. It is brimming with heritage buildings, ancient landmarks, and colonial structures. A quaint city with an abundance of breath-taking sights and rich heritage, Melaka is easy to get around on foot or trishaw to explore the many places that make it unique. From Ayer Keroh’s lush greenery to Melaka City’s urban landscape, it makes a perfect destination to relax, unwind, and even live in.

Johor

Johor is the southernmost state in Malaysia, located on the Malay Peninsula’s tip. Johor is Malaysia’s most populous state and a growing economic power player. The country is a contrasting blend of people from around the world with a vast number of ideologies. This makes Malaysia more congenial for international students.

Pahang

Pahang is the third largest state in Malaysia, located on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The capital of Pahang, the city is a bustling, largely Chinese, business hub and the main transport hub of the east coast. It is thinly populated and vast tracts are given over to primeval rain forests, pristine national parks, huge freshwater lakes, formidable mountains, and refreshingly cool hill stations.

Perak

Perak is Malaysia’s most serendipitous state. It has some interesting palaces, museums and mosques to admire. Perak is the fourth largest state in Malaysia and is located in the northwest part of Peninsular Malaysia.

Kedah

Kedah is described as the ‘Abode of Peace’ and is a state in the northern part of the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It’s situated between Penang and glorious Langkawi and exhibits an old-world charm, stunning architecture, and lots of rice. Langkawi is indeed the jewel of Kedah with its stunning line of beaches and has plenty of natural wonders, historic landmarks, and majestic structures.

Perlis

Perlis is the smallest state in Malaysia, covering an area of around 800 sq. km. It is also the northernmost state on the peninsular and is surrounded by Thailand on the northwest. Though small, it has its own unique and beautiful rustic charm.

Pulau Pinang

Diverse, cosmopolitan with fresh aspects of modern culture is what Pulau Pinang is in a nutshell. This magnificent island is rich in palm-fringed beaches and fishing villages, mountainous jungle, and farms growing nutmeg and durian. Right from Chinese temples to trishaws pedalling past you, this place has something exquisite to offer to everyone.

Kelantan

Known as the Land of lighting and Balcony of Mecca, the north-eastern state advocates Islam and requires you to dress appropriately while you are here. It possesses a stronghold of traditional Malay culture and one of Southeast Asia’s great buffer zones, combining a distinctive blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Thai cultures.

Terengganu

A significant regional hub and a tourist destination in the eastern part of Malaysia, Kuala Terengganu is the capital of the state and district of Terengganu. The city still retains its old and traditional charm, of which the architecture is proof, and has an overall laidback vibe compared to larger urban centres like Kuala Lumpur. However, its main attractions are the various white sandy beaches within the city and the nearby islands in the region as well where tourists can bask in the sun.

Sabah

Home to Malaysia’s highest peak – Mount Kinabalu, Sabah is the perfect getaway from the bustling city. Filled with acres of nature, you can immerse yourself in an adventurous river rafting activity down the Padas Gorge, or dive deep into the waters of Mantanani Island, trek up Kinabalu Park, and soak yourself at the Poring Hot Spring!

Sarawak

Revealing a side of Asia unlike anywhere else, Sarawak offers an alternative for those seeking humble authenticity far from the tourist-trap clichés.  Visiting Sarawak can be done as a complementary trip to Peninsular Malaysia and neighbouring countries, or a journey discovery all on its own. To discover Sarawak means taking the road less travelled.

Whether it is sharing in lifestyle of one of the many indigenous communities’ longhouses, exploring gigantic caves in the UNESCO World Heritage of Gunung Mulu National Park, you will find Sarawak offers a host of memorable experiences to bring home to.
